GOVERNOR Gabriel Suswam of Benue State, on Wednesday, submitted that he will disgrace the former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Barnabas Gemade, at the senatorial primaries on Sunday.
The governor, who was speaking with newsmen in Makurdi, after he registered for the national identity card on Wednesday, said his campaign team was ready and had put necessary things in place to ensure his victory.
Asked about the rumour doing the round in the state that between himself and Senator Gemade, one has decided to step down, the governor said he was not a coward to back out.
He assured that he was going ahead with the election and noted that he would disgrace his opponent on Sunday.
According to him, “my campaign team is here right now and we are not taking things for granted, as there is no truth in the rumour that I am stepping down.”
Senator Gemade, while reacting to the rumour of his stepping down, told the Nigerian Tribune on phone that he never told anyone that he had stepped down from the race.
The two gladiators had been on each other’s throat over Benue North-East senatorial district.
